Brand & Business Overview
A culinary and wellness company exploring African heritage through food, culture and community.
01
What Kumba is, and where it is going.
Kumba is a culinary and wellness company exploring African heritage through food, culture and community.
Rooted in Zimbabwe and inspired by the African diaspora, Kumba creates experiences, products and educational content that reconnect people to themselves, each other and home.
Rather than preserving culture exactly as it was, Kumba believes in carrying it forward — using food as a living language that evolves with every generation.

Long-Term Vision
Kumba aims to become an ecosystem connecting food innovation, wellness, agriculture and community.
02
Mona — Chef. Nutrition Master's student. Recipe developer. Food innovator.
Growing up between Zimbabwe and Britain created two identities that constantly spoke to one another.
Zimbabwe gave me heritage.
Britain gave me opportunity.
Food became the place they met.
My work explores what happens when culture travels.
How memories survive.
How recipes evolve.
How food can become both nourishment and storytelling.
03
To reconnect people with:
Heritage
Community
Wellness
Storytelling
through food.
Not by recreating history.
But by carrying it forward.
04
We don't freeze culture. We carry it forward.
Zimbabwe is always the foundation. Every menu. Every product. Every story. But Kumba isn't limited by geography.
It celebrates migration. Movement. Influence. Connection.
The Kumba Question
How can food create opportunity?
Opportunity for communities.
Opportunity for farmers.
Opportunity for young people.
Opportunity for better health.
Opportunity for conversation.
05
The principles that guide every decision.
06
Multiple touchpoints, all feeding one another. Nothing exists independently.
Everything supports everything else.
07
The catalyst behind Kumba.
Five years ago Wingz on Wednesday began as a weekly cooking series. Originally it was simply about wings — trying flavours, learning cuisines, having fun, building community online.
Over time it became something much bigger. It became a space where people gathered around food, asked questions, cooked together, learnt together. The audience wasn't simply watching recipes — they were becoming part of the journey.
"What happens if people could sit around the same table instead of watching through a screen?"
That question became Back to the Table. Then Kumba. Wingz on Wednesday wasn't replaced — it evolved.
08
Now Kumba's Research & Development platform.
Instead of simply teaching recipes, it allows the community to become part of product development. Subscribers receive exclusive tutorials using products currently being developed.
Current Focus
Guava Chilli Preserve
Future Products
Kumba House Rub · Kumba Marinade · Seasonal pantry products
The community helps refine recipes through continuous feedback until every product reaches retail standard.
Instead of launching products and hoping people love them — people help create them.
09
Products inspired by African ingredients and storytelling.
First Collection
Guava Chilli Preserve
Inspired by childhood memories of my grandmother's guava tree in Zimbabwe. A preserve bringing together Zimbabwean guava with chillies from around the world. It represents exactly what Kumba stands for — home meeting the world.

How do customers become part of making it better?

11
The heartbeat of Kumba.
Each supper explores a different chapter of identity. Every menu is designed around a central theme — the food, the music, the conversations, the ingredients, the room. Everything contributes to the story.

Not a separate business. The foundation.
Before becoming a chef I studied nutrition. That education shapes every decision.

Community health
The goal isn't to tell people what they shouldn't eat. It's helping people understand how heritage foods can continue supporting health today.
13
Community isn't marketing. It's the business.
The audience isn't simply buying tickets. They're helping shape products. Giving feedback. Sharing stories. Returning to future events. Every interaction deepens the relationship.

Kumba is building more than a food brand. It is building an ecosystem.
Where African ingredients are celebrated.
Where communities are connected.
Where food becomes opportunity.
Where culture continues to evolve.
And where everyone has a seat at the table.
18
Zimbabwe is not a marketing tool. It is the foundation.
You don't use Zimbabwe as a marketing tool. You use it as your foundation.
Zimbabwe is the anchor. Every menu, every product, every story starts here — with heritage that is lived and carried, not performed or sold.
This page exists so that PR agencies, partners and collaborators can tell the story consistently — not as a campaign, but as a truth.
Helping Zimbabwe become the breadbasket of Africa again.
19
The brand manifesto.
It isn't about physically sitting at a table.
It's about returning to conversation, heritage, community, curiosity and shared meals.
Everything we do — from Wingz on Wednesday to the supper club to the preserve — is another invitation back to the table.
Conversation
Heritage
Community
Curiosity
Shared meals

And where everyone has a seat at the table.
